I painted several rings yesterday, and eventually they'll be in the shop. I've been experimenting with indoor photography, including using Ott-Lites as a light source. So far, the results are super-clear, mostly color-true photos (except for the deep plums and browns which manage to look like black even in natural sunlight) with more shadow than I want, but I suppose I can fix that with some creative lamp placement.

I was kind of sad that I didn't hold out for this particular Ott-Lite but then I realized that there isn't an actual iPod dock in the lamp. That would have been a great space saver! I am currently using some portable iPod speakers I bought on clearance at Target several years ago. I think they were $2.50. I'm not sure how much longer they will last, but they have been good little speakers.

Speaking of iPods, and on the similar topic of music, I have been spending too much time watching music videos on YouTube recently. Today I am admitting to you that I (a lifelong U2 fan) had never seen U2's first music video until yesterday. It is a gem of entertainment. See for yourself:
