a heart and herringbone

Happy February!

I'm working on a few projects right now - most aren't ready for display here.  In keeping with my goal of adding one new project to this blog each week, I'm sharing this tiny canvas with you.

Something like it popped into my mind last week.  That one had a brighter color scheme, and was taller than it was wide.  I wanted to try a multicolored herringbone pattern with a heart over it.  I didn't know I would be painting so many layers - herringbone, white, dots, white, gold accents - and I didn't know what it would say.  Now that I think of this, it would be cool with a monogram on it.

I'm undecided about this one.  But it feels happy to me, and it was fun to make.
